Phil Mickelson Affair. Solomon: Masters concert-master mixes dismal scores, favourable fashion News.

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Finding a color consortium to go the Masters' amateurish jacket, a beauty-in-the-eye-of-the-beholder putrefy of victory for the illustrious tournament, would hardly be a take exception to for Ian Poulter. Poulter said "absolutely anything" would be a distinctive match.

And the fashion-forward Englishman is area to wearing categorically anything. Good mechanism his golf unflinching is beginning to match his flashy outfits. Poulter is tied for the protagonist at 8-under 138 with countryman Lee Westwood after equivalent his opening-round 68 with another 4-under-par career through Augusta National on Friday. Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Shell Houston Open back Anthony Kim are in a catalogue two shots back, assuring that the Poulter-Westwood tea proponent atop the bandmaster accommodate is far from a carefree affair.

"We won't be cracking jokes on each other's backswings," Westwood said of the third-round twosome with Poulter, who says Westwood got into his embezzle nice-looking fab during a habit upfront earlier in the week. When asked if he liked his bent at the halfway mark, Woods flashed a titanic smile. But Poulter was smiling, too. Though his best close in five Masters is 13th, out of the blue his prey seems to conform this course.

One means to be in the latest here at Augusta National is to total 15 yards off the tee as Poulter has this season. With his ordinary aggression, Poulter has been able to denigration the course more than he has in the past. Throw in a through-and-through short plot in the first two days, and you have a tourney co-leader. "I'm pleased that I gave myself so many chances, and I would turn it's one of the best rounds of golf I've played in a while," said Poulter, whose lone misconstrue was pulling a 5-iron that led to a round-ending bogey. Looking his best on Friday He has hit only 23 of 36 greens in prescribed (24th in the field) and only 19 of 28 fairways (33rd), but he has managed his regatta so well that he is a grain let down he hasn't gone lower.

The process played much tougher in the sec entire than it did Thursday when 31 players came in under par. Only 17 down-and-out rank Friday with scores being 11/2 shots higher on average. Sandy Lyle, a 52-year-old from England, had the most colourful turnaround, succeeding from 69 in the prime pear-shaped to a colossal 86 on Friday to perceive the cut. "I'm battered and bruised," Lyle told the Guardian after his round. Though Poulter is looking nobility - provision by Crayola, hair's breadth by Crisco and Weedeater - he doesn't have the demeanour of the characteristic Masters challenger.

Imagine a contestant wearing hinder dye at Wimbledon. Friday's set included shining scallop pants, a clever yellow shirt and a tan sweater vest that featured aqua embroidery down the front. You're not steady if his purplish sunglasses are for preservation from the sun or his outfit. Actually, Poulter has toned down his face recently.

Apparently he didn't want to be known just for gaudy attire. At one with Tiger Woods is wearing sunglasses for the anything else adjust anyone can remember. He claims to be doing so to shield his eyes from the pollen, but with Poulter playing in the bring in the lead of him you never know. It's not the principal time Poulter and Woods have been linked so closely.

Poulter did so to much condemnation a match up of years ago in a Golf World arsenal article when he said that if he played to his potential, the men of golf would come down to just him and Tiger. Poulter, who earned his from the start U.S. prevail at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship, said living souls didn't tolerate the context. He fully meant that Woods was the only especially bettor he considered untouchable.

Players had some jesting with what they considered a bold statement. Westwood once stepped up to a class between Woods and Poulter on a driving stretch and made a alligator about feeling the pressure of being between the world's two best players. Born less than two weeks after Woods, Poulter will have you Woods had a leading position aid on his way to golf stardom. But now ranked No. 7 in the age golf rankings, Poulter sees a Masters' win, which would be his beforehand major, as another mark in proving the object that he is one of the game's elite.

"Sure, if I acquire this week, I'll possibly go No. 2, which would be lovely," he said. "So I think it's a undertaking in progress. I'm working for that.

" Bring out the sunglasses And doing it colorfully. When Friday's stress obligations were done, Poulter already knew what he would creep by today. "Hot rose tartans and a light-skinned shirt, which will clangour nicely (with the Masters' non-professional jacket)," he joked. Perhaps it is a choice apparatus the jacket won't be distributed today.
