Verizon Wireless to Skip Samsung's Galaxy S II (Phone Scoop) News.

Verizon Wireless has confirmed to the Wall Street Journal that it will not forth the Samsung Galaxy S II. Samsung is expected to bring in the S II to the U.S. Stock Exchange at an occasion scheduled for August 29 in New York City.



It will inaugurate the S II with AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile, but not Verizon. "We have an broad portfolio that offers customers a great strain of devices, including the Samsung Droid Charge," said Brenda Raney, a Verizon Wireless spokeswoman, to the Journal. The S II was win announced in February at the Mobile World Congress event, and has already sold more than 5 million units across Asia, Australia, and Europe. It has quad-band GSM/EDGE and quad-band HSPA at 21Mbps, Bluetooth 3.0 HS, GPS, Wi-Fi, and FM with RDS radios, and a dual-core 1GHz processor. The S II's cardinal camera captures 8 megapixels, comprehensive 1080p HD video and has auto-focus and a flash. The non-essential camera has 2 megapixels. Media can be shared via DLNA, an the S II will come with either 16GB or 32GB of onboard storage, in adding to a pigeon-hole for microSD cards up to 32GB. The S II runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread.



Sales dates and prices are expected to be announced on August 29.
